Morris and Son was founded by the art historian Richard Morris in 2010 with an emphasis on British 20th Century modern paintings. 

Since then, we have expanded our practice to include English and European late 19th Century and 20th Century paintings and works on paper.

Through personal contacts and social media we have access to a worldwide network of academics, private collectors, art galleries, art historians, auctioneers, dealers and artists to find whatever artist, picture or style of artwork our clients might require. 

Our expertise in the extremely competitive art market is well known - Richard is regularly asked to comment by the media on art issues of the day by overseas broadcasters including CNN, Today.com, MSNBC, and print media including Time Magazine, The Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail, The Times and the Independent. 

Over the past few years we have re-discovered paintings and drawings by Sir Stanley Spencer, Christopher Nevinson, David Hockney, work by Augustus John, David Jones, Winifred Nicholson, and Scandinavian artists including Helene Schjerfbeck and Ellen Thesleff. 

We help clients navigate the complexities around art valuation and Inheritance Tax - accurately valuing pieces of art can be challenging due to the uniqueness and subjective nature of the art market.
