Margaret Green (1925-2003) gouache on paper, this picture shows a self-portrait of Margaret Green (in white dress) and her husband, the artist Lionel Bulmer passing Green Park in London, having been to the Royal Academy. Mounted, in a gilt frame and behind glass.

Margaret Green was born in Hartlepool, County Durham and after meeting the artist Patrick Heron decided on a career as a professional artist and studied at Royal College of Art under Gilbert Spencer. After meeting and marrying the artist Lionel Bulmer, she lived in
Chelsea after WW2, teaching in art schools. Around this time she was making pictures of London parks, streets and embankments before looking further afield to the Sussex. They made a more lasting move to the Suffolk countryside and settled in Stowmarket. A frequent exhibitor at the with the London Group, as well as with the NEAC. Examples of her work are held in Tate Britain, the Government Art Collection and many public galleries.
